Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of that year.
Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on court had caused observers to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He saved four initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
